Records Requests

Copies of Public Record Documents
Most of the files located in the Clerk of Court's office are available for public viewing, copying and printing. Notable exceptions include dismissed warrants, cases sealed by judicial order, juvenile cases, filings related to adoptions, or any other filings prohibited by law.

Requests for copies of public record documents can be made in person or by mail. Please be prepared to provide a photo ID for certain records.

Please be aware that copies of documents for cases just heard in court may not be immediately available due to time required for processing. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing after cases have been adjudicated before requesting copies.

The cost for copies if $.25 per page and $1.00 per *certification. Payment may be made via cash, money order, or cashiers check and is expected at the time the copies are made. Money orders or cashiers checks need to be made payable to the Pickens County Clerk of Court.

*A certified copy is one that has been attested, or verified, by the Clerk of Court as a true copy of the original and includes the seal of the Clerk of Court.

Common Pleas and General Sessions Records
Public online searches may be performed via the Pickens County Public Index. Images of most Common Pleas court cases can be accessed and printed from this site; however, searches regarding General Sessions cases will only display file information online. Records requests can be made in person at the Criminal/Civil Department of the Office of Clerk of Court on the first floor of the Pickens County Courthouse, which is located at 214 E Main Street, Pickens, SC 29671.

To request records by mail please send written requests with case number(s), case parties, documents requested, and payment to include copy fees and return postage. Please use one of the following contacts to assess the copy fees and return postage total before mailing request.

Family Court Records
Family Court records are available for viewing and copying in person at the Office of the Clerk of Court on the first floor of the Pickens County Courthouse, which is located at 214 E Main Street, Pickens, SC 29671. Please be prepared to provide a photo ID for viewing or copying of certain records. For large records requests please contact Family Court to have documents copied prior to your scheduled arrival at (864)898-5363. There may be a deposit required for large records requests prior to processing.

To request records by mail please send written requests with docket number(s), case parties, documents requested, and payment to include copy fees and return postage. Written requests for Family Court records should be mailed to Attn: Family Court Records P.O. Box 215, Pickens, SC 29671.
