Water Authority

Purpose: The Pickens County Water & Sewer Authority was created as a Special Purpose District with a mission to acquire supplies of fresh water, capable of being used for industrial and domestic purposes, and to distribute such water in an orderly manner for industrial and domestic use within its service area.

Enabling Legislation:

The Pickens County Water Authority is a Special Purpose District. Board meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at 144 McDaniel Ave., Pickens, SC 29671.

Members are recommended by County Council and appointed by the Governor to 4 year terms.
