Mission: “To inspire, educate, and empower people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment.”
Enabling Legislation: The Keep Pickens County Beautiful Committee is an advisory committee appointed by Pickens County Council to promote environmental education and awareness, focusing on recycling, litter prevention and enforcement and beautification in Pickens County. It is the committee’s goal to educate and motivate every citizen to help make Pickens County the most beautiful, litter-free county in South Carolina.
Purpose: The primary purpose of the Committee is to encourage the community to voluntarily work to improve the physical and visual landscape, primarily through litter prevention, beautification, recycling, waste reduction, and other cleanup efforts throughout Pickens County, South Carolina.
Keep America Beautiful affiliates in South Carolina are key partners of PalmettoPride helping us expand our programs and volunteer-base across the state. Additionally a partnership with the Anderson and Pickens Stormwater Partners has been formed to help bring environmental education back to Pickens County.
County Council appoints members to 4 year terms.
