: The Pickens County Beautification and Environmental Advisory Committee is dedicated to keeping Pickens County clean and beautiful.

Enabling Legislation: The Pickens County Beautification and Environmental Advisory Committee (PCBEAC) is an advisory committee appointed by Pickens County Council to promote environmental education and awareness, focusing on recycling, litter prevention and enforcement and beautification in Pickens County. It is the committee’s goal to educate and motivate every citizen to help make Pickens County the most beautiful, litter-free county in South Carolina.

Pickens County Beautification & Environment Advisory Committee (PCBEAC) has active partners in promoting and delivery of educational programs for Pickens County. One major outreach for 2020 is the 19th annual Traveling Trash Bash (TTB) environmental education program presented to all Pickens County 3rd graders which includes 14 elementary schools. The Committee has volunteers from many sources and reaches approximately 5000 plus 3rd graders, which includes Parents, Brother/Sisters and Grandparents to promote good environmental habits and practices.

The committee also partners with the School District of Pickens County High School E club and Career Center to promote programing at the higher levels. A Native plant garden at the Griffin Mill recycling center is maintained by committee members to enhance the education approach. Additionally a partnership with the Anderson and Pickens Stormwater Partners has been formed to help bring environmental education back to Pickens County.

Future project include partnering with the Pickens County Soil and Water Conservation District on environmental education project.

County Council appoints members to 4 year terms.
