Alex Saitta and his wife, Carmen, have lived in Pickens for more than 20 years. They raised their daughters, Scarlett and Amber,  here and put them through Pickens' schools. Amber is a sophomore at Clemson University majoring in Business Administration and Scarlett is a senior Pre-med student at Anderson University. 

Carmen works for Manna and Fleetwood Health & Rehab, as well as Pruitt Health. Alex owns his own tax preparation business, and has invested $3 million in the county starting a real estate business.

Saitta has a 4-year degree in Business Management and Economics from New York University. For 17 years, he was a financial analyst for Citicorp. He has the ability to study budgets, has an eye for directing funds to essential needs and balancing budgets without imposing tax hikes. As a business owner, he will apply a simple business model: provide the highest quality of service, at a reasonable cost to the taxpayers and do so with customer service in mind.

Saitta opposes growing the county at any cost. He feels that this approach will continue to harm our quality of life with more traffic, stressing our scenic beauty and wildlife, further raise home costs and increase litter. Saitta wants to preserve our small town feel and mountain heritage, focusing on the people here and protecting their quality of life first. In regards to growth, he feels the focus should be on boosting the profitability of existing companies and creating jobs that pay a living wage, making Pickens County a place where our local graduates remain to find a professional career path.

Other priorities include fire and EMS services, solid waste, employee pay and communication, as well as protecting Pickens' values and traditions.

Saitta represents the Pickens area. He served 12 years on the Pickens County School Board and was elected to the county council in 2020.
