Pick Up Pickens

Clean communities are safe communities, good for tourism and economic development, and a sense of pride. Partner organizations are invaluable to keeping our county clean. Incentivizing our residents and civic organizations to participate in litter pickups helps us toward our goal of being a litter-free community. At the directive of County Council, the Pick Up Pickens program was developed in an effort to clean up 25% of roads in the county in 2021. The program is housed under Keep Pickens County Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, focused on litter reduction, education and recycling. To participate, a organization must have been in existence for at least a year and not be a representative of or affiliated with any political party. All participants will be required to sign a liability release waiver.

Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply here.

Please be sure to watch our safety video and read through our litter education resources.

Once your organization has completed their scheduled pick up, a follow up report must be submitted for confirmation.  You can find the follow up report here.

Once approved, organizations must become a vendor of Pickens County.  You can find that process here.
